The Tekla Model Sharing service is not officially a backup or archiving solution even though it may look like that at a quick glimpse. Note the following:

When you finish working on a project, create a final baseline of the model.
You can open a full model (baseline) created with an older Tekla Structures version in a newer version of Tekla Structures.
Based on our end-of-life policy, old Tekla Structures versions are not able to connect to Tekla Model Sharing beyond a set date.
The Download feature in the Tekla Model Sharing Management Console website allows you to only download the last baseline (full model) as a zip file to your drive. You cannot download any change packets of models.
Note also that if you decide to discontinue your Tekla Model Sharing licenses, we store your data for a further 6 months in the Tekla Model Sharing service. If you do not renew your licenses during this grace period, your data will be deleted.

End-of-life schedule

Based on our end-of-life policy, for technical and security reasons, we are retiring older Tekla Structures versions from Tekla Model Sharing. For now, this affects Tekla Structures versions 21.0, 21.1, 2016 and 2016i. The schedule for this is until the end of 2022. This service is running with a temporary solution for these versions and you need a separate application for managing passwords. We do not fully guarantee that all these will work until the end of 2022, so we strictly recommend you to download and upgrade your 21x and 2016x models as soon as possible.
