There have been a few posts I have been neglecting to put up. Since I began this website, I’ve wanted to mention the Presonus line of StudioLive mixers. These very reasonably-priced digital mixers can basically do everything that an audio booth would need in a church setting. So here’s the problem – as I kept waiting to write up something, more and more new features kept getting added. Now there’s no way I can cover everything in a single post. I personally have used one at an elementary school for weekly chapels and a Christmas play, and it was great. It’s a stretch for some, but if it was up to me I would sell my church’s $30,000 Yamaha M7CL/Aviom monitor combo in favor of two StudioLive 24.4.2 units (total cost…about $6,000). Basically it does everything you need for a service: Mixing with built-in effects, ipad/ipod/laptop controling, and even multitrack recording.
