Divx Player Archives

My friend has some divx files, and they work properlyu on her computer, but when she burns them and uses them on her divx player, there is no audio..

Help her please.. :D

Perhaps the audio is not mp3 format (which most DivX players expect to find).

might be encoded with ac3. so your divx player doesn't have an ac3 decoder = no sound

Does this happen on all divx files, or just some?

If it is just some of them:

download gspot and check the codec information on a file that works and on a file that doesn't. Post back with your findings.

If it is all of them:

check the audio cables are plugged in etc etc.
check gspot and post back with detailed codec information.

So, after she runs gspot and finds out the codec on the files that don't work, what do we do then?..

Cross that bridge when we come to it. It may be a corrupted file. The audio format may not be supported by the player. Re-encoding may be the best option. Until we know what we're dealing with it is all speculation.

I doubt that like half of her files are corrupted. It's likely the audio format isn't supported by her player..
